How to learn Korean language without spending money?
During the pandemic, South Korea has become a dream place for most of us. Not because of the K-pop idols and K-dramas stars but because they have aware that “Self-love could lead you towards happiness”.
I am watching K-dramas since 2019 and in 2020 I met a lot of Korean lovers. Watching dramas raised the curiosity to learn about Korea more. Language, culture, and every little beauty they have.
Cherry blossom in spring,
Snow falling in street,
The hot and spicy food
Smell like summer’s sun.
We all wish to learn as many as the language we can learn. Of course, learning different culture and language are not bad, who knows it will lead you to somewhere someday. Thou, I am addicted to the Korean language and I found out each way to learn this language.
I browsed for free and paid courses from different apps. The best free apps you can learn from are:
1. Duolingo
Duolingo is one of the best apps for a language learner. They provide various languages, the way they have designed the app will help you learn from the starting and it is absolutely free. You can read anytime, anywhere as per your convenience.
The best part is you will be notified every day for completing a lesson. So in case, you forgot to complete your mission they won’t let you quit on your dream.
You will get familiar with the sound by hearing the word and before moving on to the next chapter you can also reckon the progress you made in remembering the lessons you have completed.
Through, Duolingo you won’t only learn some points but a way of speaking in Korean.
2. Memrise
Memrise is for both free and paid users. There you will read from the native speakers. They have created videos of Korean native speakers and posted them for your comfort. So you can observe the way they talked, pronounced, and their emotions as well to understand the meaning of a word.
You can track your rank here while learning. Maintaining an everyday streak and progress will encourage you to read more.
“Patience can lead to success.”
3. LingoDeer
LingoDeer is a paid app but it is good for people who are learning it for traveling. Thou, they have prepared introductory lessons and a travel phrasebook for free. It is good to get familiar with the Korean alphabet so you can read the words written on the street if you are going there for a trip.
In the travel phrasebook, you will learn about the basic things you would need to communicate there such as greetings to someone, at the time of shopping at the mall, ordering food, every useful phrase without paying any cost.
4. Netflix and others show app
Yes, it is silly but true and entertaining. We might not recall the words we read but we won’t forget the things we heard. Watching Korean dramas would actually help to learn the way of speaking Korean.
To be honest, before starting my language speaking course I watched a lot of K-dramas and it was easier to recall the words I hear on the app.
It makes me believe that I am almost good at speaking and learning this language which encouraged me to stick to my learning.
Learning never ends and learning new skills and languages is always an advantage for confidence.
If you desire to be multilingual, try using this app. Also, look for people with the same language interest as you so you can converse with them. It will help you to rectify yourself and you will reckon your progress by talking.
Eventually, if you’re not able to find one talk with yourself as much as you can in your interested language.
The more you read, talk, hear excellently your skill will improve.
As I mentioned above, one of the best way I used for learning my desirable language (Korean) I watched K-dramas.
The apps and the methods I have written above are beneficial for each language.
Give it a try and be fluent.
If you’re a Korean learner too , don’t forget to connect with me.
